Pumpkin Patch

I promised my daughter a trip to the pumpkin patch this weekend and her and I went around noon today. Had fun. She picked out three and on the way home my wife called her and told her that she had won a free pumpkin in a coloring contest and so, we went to get that one also. Halloween is tomorrow and she tricker treating in another neighborhood, so I will miss her.

On another note my youngest son is in Ceder Point Ohio, the other is out with friends and my daughter is at the in-laws. Wife is watching movies and I'm between the movie, the puter and downstairs in my area messing with some hunting stuff. Quite and nice.

Al Gore the Hypocrite

Gore leaves car idling for one hour during speech; Opts for Swedish government jet over public transportation

'Local legislation prohibits any car engine running for more than 60 seconds' -- But Gore Not Fined

Al Gore -- He did it again.
Recently, Nobel Peace Prize winner Al Gore toured again. Or maybe he does that all the time. This time, he turned up in Gothenburg (Sweden) for the usual alarmist talk. In advance, all distinguished guests were politely advised to – if possible – use any form of public transportation to go to the event, in order to minimize CO2 emissions.
Intriguingly, the Master of World Climate himself arrived in a rental car (with or without driver is unclear), from the airport, and subsequently left the engine running for the entire lecture. That is to say, about one hour. Incidentally, local legislation prohibits – for very good environmental reasons, i e pollution – any car engine running on empty for more than 60 seconds. Fines are severe. As far as I know, he was not fined.
It starts to form a pattern.
After the ceremony in the Norwegian capital Oslo, it is customary that the laureate is invited to the Swedish capital Stockholm, for a cordial visit. The train ride, supposedly the environmental choice according to Mr. Gore, is approximately four hours. However, he opted for the cosier ride with one of the Swedish government aircrafts. As these can, according to the rules, only be used when a cabinet member is on board – and as the Swedish government after a short ceremonial visit – offered to fly him to Frankfurt (Germany) for his flight to the US, you can calculate both the manpower and the fuel used for this grand tour against man's destruction of the planet.
Stupidity and hypocracy – as well as vanity – are, like it or not common human traits. I admit to some of them occasionally, but I don't demand taxpayers to finance my stupid talks at dinner (yes, I love doing that). Here's the deal Mr Gore: get out of my way, and I will keep out of yours.

Another Day

Not a bad one at that. Been one week since my PRP (platelet rich plasma) injection in my left elbow and all is good. Pain is goin down, feels strong and looking forward to a complete heal of the tendinitis. Alternative therapy is sometimes worth looking into before surgery. This was done Uof M Hospital by a Doc who just starting using this therapy with athletes. It was as painful of a procedure that I ever want to go through again. It was like injecting 3mls of maple syrup in your elbow. Follow up apt tomorrow.

Winds are kicking up here in Michigan now. Leaves are almost off the trees and fall is here. Wont be in the gym except for cardio for at least 45 days. So, I'm doing my share of beer drinking and eating now!  Life is.....OK.

Good Bye Sweet Fancy Gym

I dropping out of my elitists gym that I belong to, with the pools, saunas, restaurant, salon, marble counters and gold fixtures and moving to a smaller gym in order to cut some costs. I'm paying around a $150 a month at my current club. Kids aren't using the pool anymore and basically I just go and workout now. It used to be a family used club by us for everything. Its a nice place but now with the boys insurance costing me a couple hundred bucks a month, braces for the other, place up north, somethings got to give. So, Ill make some adjustments. I'm outta the gym for the most part anyway the next couple of months and I'm gonna enjoy my beers and eating again. I need a break from all of the AAS and ups and downs. Need to mellow out. I'm gonna try an do a video for the Blog tonight. Later alligators

19 years ago. Wife and myself

Saturday Morning

I was suppose to go out last night to a friends boat party before he pulls it out of the water, but around 9PM I got to tired and had to many things to do today rather than nursing a hangover.

Today, Soccer game for daughter, son is having 9 friends over tonight for a party. 9 will turn into 10..13...15.. and who the fuck knows. Wife will be gone and he asked me to split also. Oh, ya, cider mill today after soccer game. While I'm out that way I want to visit a friend and his wife who were in a motorcycle accident two weeks ago. His wife is in bad shape. We sent a fruit basket last week, I called him also but want to stop by. Also, my wife wants me to move a spice rack in the kitchen because the new trash can doesn't fit under it when you open the lid.  Just another day in the life of Westwood. Weather is cold now and calling for rain. Temp around 52 and wont go much higher. It is a nice fall day. I like it when it rains in the fall. Reminds me of hunting. Take care now

The Blue Neon Radio

Its 3:30AM and Im awake as all get-out. Did an Ambien last night about 10PM and slipped into a coma. A nightmare woke me up. I have many, believe me. So, Im writting.

My son turned 16 this year and has been driving my Jeep. He wont drive the wifes van. Typical day around 3AM is for me to get a call. "Dad, when are u going to be home?" Answer "around 5, why?" "Silence....I need the car to go to the gym and my friends". Ok, this is everyday. I shit u not. "Son, take the van" Answer; "I m not driving that thing, its embarrassing" He is a good kid. Does well in school, Lacrosse team, works at Aropostle Clothes store (I don’t know how to spell it, let alone say it). So he has been saving hs money up for a car. I told him back when he was 14 and 15, to save enough for a down payment; carry a 3.0 grade average and Ill help u with a car. It was either that or he would drive a $1000 rust bucket around. So he saves enough, is carrying a 2.9 so I relented and we started looking around. The kicker here is that he came to me last week and said "Dad, listen to this! Just listen OK before u say no. I found a pair of sub woofers on Craigslist, BRAND NEW! for a grand! That’s it! One thousand dollars. I have the money and that’s what I want to get. What do you say?" After the neurons in brain tried to process this information in a timely fashion so I could answer this absurb proposal, I responded with "sure, its your money. You can buy what you want. But what are you going to do with the woofers" His response was "Why, Im going to put them in your jeep". I once read an article where it was explained how at age 16, the brain cant make good decisions or logical ones sometimes because it isn’t fully connected yet. So, I say to myself, ok, this is normal. My boy isn’t insane; he’s just acting like a 16 year old. I ask him what he is going to do about a car. He said he is going to save up, while the sub woofers sit in his room because they aren’t going in my car I told him. Once this sunk in, that he didn’t have a car to put them in, and they weren’t going in my car, logic sunk in. Ahhhh, sweet success. I don’t have a mentally challenged teen!

Se we look for a car. He is picky and Im short fused. So after a bit of searching we find a car. 2000 Grand AM with 46,000 miles on it. He tells me GrandAms suck. I said, well lets just look at it OK. He gets inside, sees the sliding sun roof and digs it. It was kinda dark out and he puts the key in and this radio in the dash lights up neon blue with LEDs flashing and casting a blue light through out the inside and no doubt from outside looking it. His eyes fixated on the hallucinogenic radio front and all the blinking lights. "Dad. I want this car. Its so me. This is incredible!" Sigh.... longer story shorter. We get the car. He is in love with it. Lesson learned for me is, with my next son who is 15 now, I will go out and buy a $200 radio with as many lights on it as I can and maybe add a couple of my own and put it in any piece of shit car I can find before he gets there and and maybe, just maybe I can save some money for the first time in my life.

Im tired, goin back to bed
